Breakfast makes everything butter—especially when it involves pancakes! For National Pancake Day on March 1, 2022, we’ve rounded up five breakfast spots in Raleigh that serve up some flippin’ fantastic flapjacks. Try one or try them all!

Big Ed’s

A Raleigh institution, Big Ed’s doesn’t mess around when it comes to pancakes. Its jumbo-sized hotcakes are, indeed, huge, and are made with Big Ed’s housemade, daily mixed batter. Douse them with butter and syrup and you’re in for a finger-lickin’ good breakfast!

State Farmers’ Market Restaurant

There’s no need to worry about your pancakes falling flat at this popular breakfast outpost right beside the State Farmers Market. The State Farmers’ Market Restaurant‘s fluffy hotcakes (order one giant one and get a few regular-sized ones) never disappoint—and are a sure-fire way to start your day.

Flying Biscuit Café

Go for the biscuits, stay for the pancakes at this beloved Village District breakfast and brunch spot. Flying Biscuit‘s buttermilk pancakes (served all day!) come with warmed syrup and can be made all the more sweet with your choice of chocolate chips, bananas, blueberries, or strawberries.

Pam’s Farmhouse

This hidden gem in West Raleigh serves up one of the best classic, comforting breakfasts in town—and the best part? It’s served all day long. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but the hotcakes—served with your choice of bacon, sausage, or country ham—are always a good choice.

Brigs Great Beginnings

Repeatedly voted the best breakfast in Raleigh by multiple local outlets, Brigs‘ hot, fluffy pancakes are made with a homemade batter and can be stacked to your liking (go for the stack of three if you’re feeling ravenous!). Up your breakfast game by springing for the strawberry, pecan, chocolate chip, or blueberry pancakes—with whipped cream and New England maple syrup, of course.
