The Five Points area is home to a handful of great breweries, and one of our favorites is Neuse River Brewing & Brasserie! Not only does the hot spot crank out its own beer, but it also added a brasserie in late 2019 that serves up delicious European bistro-inspired fare with a North Carolina twist. The Beer

Neuse River specializes in Belgian ales and IPAs, but you’ll also find a variety of contemporary and experimental styles gracing the menu. Currently on tap there’s a classic American lager, a peaches + cream witbier, a lemongrass tripel, and a cherry pie sour ale—just to name a few. Not a beer fan? NRBC&B also boasts a selection of ciders, wine, cocktails, and spirits. So, there’s something for everyone!

The Food

Naturally, Neuse River’s food menu perfectly complements its beer selection. Small plates include smoked trout dip, wild mushroom polenta, squash salad, and PEI mussels (a fan fave!), while large plates range from croque monsieur to steak frites to a juicy burger. And don’t sleep on brunch either, with tasty dishes like shrimp and grits, eggs benedict, and french toast. Talk about too many mouth-watering dishes to choose from!

The Atmosphere

With its light-filled airy industrial-style interior, NRBC&B’s taproom is where “old meets new.” Inside, you’ll find a simple bar, handcrafted tables, and a clean minimalist environment. Outside, there’s tables throughout the herb garden, which is affixed with string lights and heaters to keep warm in the winter. You can even see a peak of DTR’s skyline!
