We are so excited about our builds at 1400 and 1402 Mordecai Drive, near the Person Street area! While we have been spending a lot of time in Five Points (and still will be), we are happy to be venturing to this part of town—which is why we will be spotlighting a different local business in this area for the next couple of months. We know the new owners will love being in the middle of everything this part of Raleigh has to offer.
First up in this series, we’ll be spotlighting one of our favorite restaurants, Jolie! (Fun fact: It was also just named one of the top 25 restaurants in Raleigh by Raleigh Magazine!) The intimate French bistro, by chef/owner and five-time James Beard Award semifinalist Scott Crawford (also of Crawford and Son, located just next door), was inspired by a family trip to Paris and named after Crawford’s daughter.
The menu is about as authentic as it gets, with dishes like steak tartare, onion soup, Parisienne gnocchi, steak frites, and more—not to mention a delectable dessert menu (because what’s a French meal without dessert?!). And of course, there are plenty of wines and craft cocktails to pair with your meal.
For the best seat in the house, reserve a spot on Jolie’s “Le Rooftop,” which is mostly covered with a large umbrella and decorated with lush greenery. It’s the perfect perch for dining on a nice evening! Or, grab a seat at the bar or one of the pristine white tables in the dining room. If you’re looking more for a quick snack and a drink, Jolie also features a Champagne window Tuesday–Thursday from 5 to 10 p.m. offering glasses of bubbly, fries, and desserts.
