The Urban Building Solutions Backstory

When UBS founder and owner Hank McCullough decided to move the company downtown it was under a previous name and structure, so he thought he needed something new and catchy that people could relate to. Since ITB was quickly gaining an “urban” feel and vibe with all the restaurants, nightlife, and redevelopment of residentials he knew that “urban” had to be in there as the anchor. Next, Building Solutions just kind of sounded right and distinguished! And, as they say, the rest was history…

Fun fact from Hank: “Although most people just call it ‘Urban Building’ or ‘Urban’ no one has ever, not once, asked me if my last name was Urban.”

UBS in the Present Day

The demand for new construction in Downtown Raleigh only continues to grow, and we are thrilled to be a part of that growth and energy. Hank has placed a huge focus on building up ITB and the Five Points area in particular. At Urban Building Solutions, we specialize in teardowns and new construction, as well as renovations and additions. Each project receives a unique and custom approach that is designed to fit the present architecture of the particular neighborhood!
